Question by Doodles: Summer vegetable garden-how do you make rows?
First attempt at a real vegetable garden. We have disked up the land and we don’t have a tiller. Any tips and suggestions on planting?
Will have a section for sunflowers, watermelons, squash, cucumbers, corn, tomatoes, peppers, beans

For veggies I want in rows like sunflowers, corn and beans, I use 2 sticks and a string where I want the row to go. 1 stick on either end of my new row and then I tie a string between them and hoe a row under the string…then I plant the seeds along the row. That way my row stays straight and I get a good idea of how much room to leave between rows….I put mulch between the rows too. Good luck…and plant the sunflowers on the north side of the garden…you don’t want them shading the rest of your crops.
